Methodology
The training course will be conducted over four days on a full-time, intensive basis. Classes will be held in the morning and the afternoon, and there will be assignments to complete in the evenings. Participants should plan on taking time off from other activities.
Lectures will be combined with case studies developed from research on Vietnam, and lead up to an open discussion of the solutions for specific issues raised during the course. Instructors will foster a dynamic classroom experience and emphasize participant-instructor interaction by inviting participants to raise new issues, contribute experiences and identify weaknesses in proposed solutions that might not fit their circumstances.
Because many government officials lack the level of English necessary to take full advantage of advanced training, the course will be conducted in Vietnamese, with consecutive translation when necessary. All reading materials will be provided in English and Vietnamese.
