Recognizing that Vietnam’s legal system is a unique hybrid of civil law with common law elements, FETP has recruited an international team of scholars from Europe, Singapore,
Vietnam and the United States. This multidisciplinary team includes:
James D. Cox,
from the Duke University School of Law, a member of the New York Stock Exchange Legal Advisory Committee and the recipient of the 1995 National Book Award for his multi-volume treatise on corporate law;
Nguyễn Đình Cung, from Central Institute of Economic Management.
Mr. Cung is one of Vietnam’s leading policy makers. He is the Chief Archietect of the Unified Enterprise Law.
David Dapice, from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government, is a leading authority on Vietnam’s economic policy.
Tan Cheng Han, Dean of the National University of Singapore Faculty of Law,
a leading expert in Asian company law and international arbitration;
Đăng Xuân Hợp,
from the National University of Singapore Faculty of Law, who combines diverse experience advising oil concerns in Vietnam, working with leading international law firms, and teaching law in Australia, Singapore and Vietnam.
Hendrik O. Kerkmeester, from the Rotterdam Institute of Law and Economics,
a leading European scholar in the economic analysis of law who has published five books and over sixty articles;
Ari Kokko, Professor, European Institute of Japanese Studies, Stockholm School of Economics; Associate Professor, Abo Akademi University; Board Member, Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, SIDA.
Mr. Ari Kokko is a leading foreign expert studying the Vietnamese economy.
Nguyễn Hữu Lam, Director of Center for Excellence in Management Development (CEMD).
Carol Liew, from the Singapore Mediation Center, is an expert in alternative dispute resolution with a research interest in cross-cultural negotiations.
P. Eli Angell Mazur, a Lecturer and FETP’s Legal Program’s Coordinator, combines diverse academic writing with experience in the private and government sectors.

Mr. Net is the author of the Vietnam’s Contract monograph on the International Encyclopedia of Laws (Kluwer Law Int’l,1999) and a number of articles.
Phạm Duy Nghĩa, from the Law Faculty at Hanoi National University, one of Vietnam’s most influential legal scholars who has
published five books on Vietnamese commercial law.
Dwight Perkins, Harold Hitchings Burbank Professor of Political Economy, Harvard University; Director, Harvard University Asia Center.
Mr. Perkins has served as an advisor or consultant on economic policy and reform to the governments of Korea, China, Malaysia, Vietnam, Ethiopia, and Papua New Guinea.
Nguyễn Như Phát, Mr. Phat is one the foremost and most prolific scholars in economic law and comparative law in Vietnam.
