Professor Michael F. Melcher is a coach and consultant based in New York City. In his diverse career Professor Melcher has, among other experiences, founded a Silicon Valley-based Internet start-up, worked as a corporate lawyer in New York City, and taught at New York University. He was invited to deliver a series of lectures at universities in Vietnam on the theme of "Starting and Financing a New Business."
It was interesting for participants in the Fulbright School's economics classes to meet with an entrepreneur who does not always apply orthodox economic thinking. After Professor Melcher discussed his experiences during the Internet boom in Silicon Valley, the discussion turned to the qualifications and characteristics of a successful entrepreneur. The differences between leaders, managers, and entrepreneurs were also touched upon during the wide-ranging discussion. |
